WeedShelf vs LeafLink: a private menu link that reports back, beside a multi-state marketplace
LeafLink describes itself as the wholesale marketplace for cannabis: brands list products, licensed retailers browse and order through LeafLink accounts, and the platform adds payments, advertising and analytics, with brand pricing quoted by its sales team. WeedShelf starts from the buyers a cultivator already knows: it gives each one a private link to a live METRC-synced menu, and records what they do with it. This page is about which of those two shapes fits a cultivator.

What LeafLink is, in its own description
On its public site (read October 2026), LeafLink describes itself as “the cannabis wholesale marketplace built for the entire supply chain”, available in many markets: brands list products, track orders and manage payments, licensed retailers shop through a free LeafLink account, and the platform adds advertising to buyers, integrations with ERP, CRM and seed-to-sale software, ACH and net-terms payments, and analytics. On pricing, its own answer to “How much does LeafLink cost?” is that brands contact its sales team for pricing based on brand volume and location, and that retailers sign up to shop free. Its pricing address now opens its home page. It publishes no price terms there, so none are repeated here. Its top navigation also links to Leaf Trade and Dama Financial.
The value of a marketplace is the network: buyers a brand does not already have. Its help center also describes buyer activity in its CRM. In “How to Identify Leads in Your LeafLink CRM”, read on October 3, 2026, a LeafLink Lead Info column shows when a customer viewed the brand’s menu, viewed a product, or added a product to the cart from LeafLink’s shop pages, with the date of each action and the brand menu it happened on. The article presents it as a way to identify leads: prospective customers who have not placed an order.
What WeedShelf is, and is not
WeedShelf is wholesale menu software for licensed cultivators. It reads a cultivator’s live inventory from METRC, turns it into a wholesale menu with one private link per dispensary, and records what each buyer does with that link: the open, the products viewed, what went into the cart and in what quantity, and the order. From an order it creates the METRC child packages on adult-use tags, the transfer template, and the emailed invoice; the cultivator dispatches in METRC Connect, as the state requires.
WeedShelf is not an ERP and does not try to be one. It keeps no books, syncs no accounting system, plans no delivery routes, runs no team chat and keeps no public wholesale catalog: no wholesale menu is open to the public. A buyer opens a menu link without an account: the link is the identity. Rhode Island dispensary buyers can also request a WeedShelf buyer account, which WeedShelf reviews and ties to one store; it opens the live menus of every cultivator on WeedShelf’s members-only buyer marketplace, which a cultivator can leave. Rhode Island is the live market. Because WeedShelf works through METRC, a cultivator in Massachusetts or any other state that uses METRC can request access.

Choose LeafLink when
- You need buyers you do not have, in markets where retailers already order through LeafLink.
- You sell in many states and want one platform across them.
- You want payments handled inside the platform.
Choose WeedShelf when
- Your buyers are a handful of dispensaries you already know by name.
- You want them to open a link, not sign up for anything.
- You want to see what each buyer you already sell to opened, viewed and put in the cart on the private link you sent them, rather than through a marketplace.
Using both
A cultivator can list on a marketplace for discovery and still send a private WeedShelf link to the buyers they already have. The two do not share data, and WeedShelf never lists a menu anywhere public.
Questions
- Is WeedShelf a LeafLink alternative?
- For selling to buyers you already know, yes. For finding new buyers across many states, no: WeedShelf’s buyer marketplace is members-only and in Rhode Island.
- Does a dispensary need an account to use a WeedShelf menu?
- No. Each dispensary receives its own private link, and that link is the identity. Nothing to sign up for.
- How much does LeafLink cost?
- LeafLink’s own answer, read on October 15, 2026, is that brands contact its sales team for pricing based on brand volume and location, and that retailers sign up to shop free. Its pricing address now opens its home page, so no figure is quoted here.
- Does WeedShelf charge per transaction?
- No. Pricing is a flat quote on request, with no per-order fee.
- Does WeedShelf process payments?
- No. The cultivator invoices and collects as before; WeedShelf emails the invoice.
- Can I use both?
- Yes. They do not share data, and a WeedShelf menu is never public.
- Where does WeedShelf operate?
- Rhode Island today. Massachusetts and the other states that use METRC by request, since WeedShelf works through METRC.
How this page was written
Every statement about LeafLink is taken from its own public website, www.leaflink.com, as read on October 15, 2026, or, where a statement names it, from How to Identify Leads in Your LeafLink CRM, as read on October 3, 2026; where that site does not describe a capability, the table says so rather than claiming its absence. Statements about WeedShelf are from its own product. No price is quoted for either, because prices change. The methodology page covers what WeedShelf publishes and what it does not.
